Change is coming
It’s time for some change on this site. The change is simple:
- New theme
- increase in posting
- new embedded gallery that supports fun JavaScript effects.
- more photos
What to do with my old content remains a mystery at this point. Part of me wants to remove it all and just start over. The other part of me wants to retain my old posts simply for the memories.
It’s been awhile since I’ve done anything to this site but fear not. I am back and better now.
Off to Hawaii
Filed in Family,Travel, March 24, 2009, 9:54 amIn just a couple of hours I will be boarding plane for Hawaii!!! The first week will be spent in Maui with my mom. This is the trip that is associated to my reward I won at work. After that, I will be spending a week in Kauai. I can’t wait!!!
We have lots of things to do in Maui. Besides all the dinners and various corporate events we have scheduled, we are also going on an ATV tour of the island. This should be hillarious seeing my mom on an ATV. The following week in Kauai will be just as busy. I have plans to explore, soak in the sun on various beaches, and plenty of cocktails.
I got my camera and 4Gb of memory cards with me. I also will have my iPhone so I plan on taking plenty of pictures.
To much pork?
Filed in Politics, February 3, 2009, 1:21 pmThe GOP released a list of they call “wasteful provisions” in the Obama stimulus package [American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009]. It is clear that the GOP does not see the big picture when it considers some of these things as wasteful. Some of the items they have listed I can agree with but a few really catch my attention:
$400 million for the Centers for Disease Control to screen and prevent STD’s
So the cost of treating these preventable diseases is far less than the $400 million investment? Think about it – if we cannot prevent people from contacting these diseases, we’re just going to pay for their treatment later when they all show up in county hospitals seeking help.
$75 million for “smoking cessation activities.”
Do we really need to debate this? I guess the Tobacco lobby is very strong in the GOP. Science has proven over and over again all the health related issues caused by smoking. Why is this wasteful???
$500 million for flood reduction projects on the Mississippi River.
I am simply without words on this. The GOP does not want to prevent another Katrina disaster???
$1.2 billion for “youth activities,” including youth summer job programs
Um… I thought we wanted to create jobs.
YES! FINALLY!
Filed in Web/Tech, January 1, 2009, 11:38 amYES! Why did it take me this long to stumble upon the solution? FAIL on my part…
Yes We Did
Filed in Noteworthy,Politics, November 11, 2008, 8:07 pmI know I am a little late at posting this, but we the people successfully elected Barack Obama as our 44th President of the United States. It’s a huge sense of relief knowing that Americans didn’t make the same mistake a third time.

If you’re curious about this whole Yes We Can line, I urge you to watch and listen to his speech from January 2008.
