Key Arena No. Traffic Maybe?

Seattle has some of the worst traffic in the nation. As the local economy seems to boom, more and more people move here. Sure that’s great for the state and the city of Seattle, but our roads cannot support all the cars that are driven on them.

The Seattle Supersonics are requesting $205 million dollars from the state to expand on Key Arena. Apparently, that money was also going to be used to rebuild the Alaskan Way Viaduct. As the viaduct continues to age and be patched from earthquakes, our sport teams want better facilities. We have built 2 brand new stadiums over the years, yet the last time a male professional team brought home a championship in Seattle was back in 1979! Come on….let’s fix the damn traffic problem so as the city grows, our roads do not continue to get clogged up.

The good news is that the Washington State legislature doesn’t seem to excited about expanding the Key Arena.
