SOX Co-Founder Quits

One of the political figures that has caused much havoc on me directly (because of my job) has decided to no seek another teem. The senator I am referring to is Sen. Sarbane. This is one of the co-founders of he Sarbane-Oxley Act (SOX).

Sen. Paul S. Sarbanes announced today that he will
not seek another term in the Senate, ending a 34-year congressional
career in which the liberal Maryland Democrat played a role in crises
ranging from the Watergate impeachment proceedings to the corporate
accounting scandals earlier this decade.

Sarbanes made the announcement at his Baltimore office shortly after 1
p.m. "I reached a decision that I shall not be a candidate for
reelection . . . ," he told reporters. "Throughout my years in public
service I’ve always sought to provide the people of Maryland with
dedicated, independent representation based upon intelligence and
integrity — representation that gives people confidence that elected
officials are there to serve the public interest."
