Memorial Day 2005

Memorial Day 2005 is now over. I think we had a awesome time. We all went to Winthrop. My mom and Maura joined us. The weather was hot the entire time we were there. It was mid-80s and low 90s. On Sunday, we went to a Rodeo with the dogs and everyone. I had a good time, but the dogs didn’t do to well in the heat, so we left a little early. The majority of the time spent up there was just relaxing and having a good time.

On Saturday, we took the dogs down to the river. Along the side of the Methow River was a little damn that the city built to provide irrigation for some of the folks. The river was a little high, but down from the lat time I saw it. Sebas and I were along the river when Sebas decided to jump in. I thought he was going to stay along the shore like he had been doing, but he decided to go out a little. The current caught him and down stream he went. I couldn’t find him, but then all of a sudden he popped up. The current pulled Sebas down and he drifted under this log before coming back up. The distance he traveled was about 50 feet if that. Of course, the dog was fine, but the owner was a little nervous.

Griffin started not feeling too good on Sunday. He woke up not acting like himself. I think it was a mixture of heat and all the activity he did and all that was around him. Just before we left, he got into a little dog fight with Sebas and another dog. He was also barking at the little kids (which Sebas did as well). I just think that the energy level that these young boys had was just too much for the ‘ol Grif. He is still a little tired, but if we don’t notice any improvement tomorrow, Name_Removed is going to take him to the Vet to make sure.

Name_Removed and I took the North Cascade Hwy home. Traffic at the hour we left (10:00 am) wasn’t bad at all. We got home in about 4 hours which is better then the time it took to get too Winthrop. My mom left at the same time, but she went home via I-90. When Name_Removed and I got to Everett, she was only in Cle Elum. So, obviously traffic for her was a lot worse then what we experienced.

Hey - we stopped in Peteros for awhile and no traffic until we hit cle elum but that didnt last long - like 5 mins worth. Then we had to pee - the line for that at Easton was a 15 minute wait and we had to pee really bad. Got home with two stops in 4 1/2 hrs. Blah, Blah, Blah :)
