iPod Upgrades Coming?
In the coming weeks, Apple is expected to make some more product announcements. These announcements are rumored to be in regards to iTunes 4.9 and some iPod updates. The iPod updates are related to the iPod Shuffle and possibly a 5th generation iPod.
I am more excited about the 5th generation iPods. The 4th generation upgrade was impressive since it almost doubled the battery life of the iPod. I am a current 4rd generation iPod owner. So I think now it is time to start saving up for a new iPod if Apple does in fact release a new version of the popular iPod. I am sure the price might also come down a bit, but we’ll just see. Apple just about controls the market for portable MP3 players, so they have the freedom to really do what they feel with pricing. People will pay how much they are for the best products. Other companies can try to come out with “better” products, like Microsoft, but they just don’t compare.

The Master considers ipods to be inferior since they require so much compression. Waiting for a decent device that does not require proprietary software and allows the music to be sotred without compression.
