Still in Atlanta

A few days down and a lot more days to go. I won’t be able to go home until the end of next week. I sure do miss the animals (Queen B & Sebas). The trip has been fun. I have had more then enough meetings to participate in. That definitely helps makes the time fly by. I am supposed to go to dinner with some new vendor that we are going to be working with. Throughout all these meetings I have had, I have definitely learned about how much work we are going to have to do to support this new release of a project that IT has been working on.

Pressure is on for me to relocate. From the moment I arrived in the office I have been asked by multiple people to move to Atlanta. The VP has been approaching me very quietly about it, but he hasn’t just come out and said it. The VP wants to take me out to lunch I think on Friday and I am more then sure that he will make it official: “Jason, will you move to Atlanta?”

Honestly, I am on the fence about it. I have my list of pros and cons, but I can’t say either way if I am going or not. I guess it will really come down to the offer I get to move down. How much money will I receive to cover relocation expenses? If I do, I am buying a house since the housing costs are cheaper down here. I am not tied down to anything in Seattle anymore, but then again, everything I have ever known is in Seattle. Moving would give me the opportunity to start over and forget about my past. The slate would be wiped clean.

    Hey Jason!

Well, how do I start :P
If you do move, you’re still gonna be thousands of miles away, so it doesn’t really make a diffrence to me.. :) ok, jokes aside :$
It’s really up to you - it’s a desicion you’ll have to make by yourself. Consider everything (mom included :P ) and then go for what your heart (and bank account ;) ) tells you to! Though you made a very good point when you said about new opportunities etc. - most of us will never get that chance - you do…

Whatever it is you’ll decide… the ones who love you, will respect it!

    Have a great dinner ;)

There is a phrase in Slovenia, i’m sure it’s known in USA too.

The one who risks, makes a profit.

So, i’m sorry to tell you that- if you won’t do that, you won’t never know what you lost or what you won. As Vesna said, you are one of the thousands “choosen ones”, who have this oportunity.

Hovewer, it can hurt really bad- leaving everything in Seattle and moving to another state. So its up to you to ask yourself few questions like:

    1. will i live better?
    2. will those who stand by my side support my decision?
    3. will i be happier starting a new life?

and more! that’s why you still have 1 whole day to think about that and talk with you family..

if you ask me? if you promisse me, i will see the Seattle when once, it won’t matter to me if you live in TX (which i know you wont)- DO IT!

Ive always tried to raise both of you kids to position yourself to have options and opportunities. Its great to see that I succeeded in that.
Your dad (Ed) is a very busy angel! Before he passed away he wanted me to promise that the three of us would take life as it comes and experience everything! He said he always wanted to help us do that but now he would from a different place. I believe he is - so - our vote is - if your gut says go - then go.
Besides Atlanta will give me a new place to travel!
