Jabra BT620s & Jabra A120s
Just today I received the new Jabra BT620s Bluetooth Stereo headset and Jabra A120s Music Adapter. The headset is designed to be paired with a Bluetooth capable phone and an additional music player. While you’re listening to music and phone call is received, the music will be muted and the headset will automatically transfer the sound over to the phone allowing you to answer the call. The Jabra A120s is simply a music adapter that plugs into a 3.5mm and broadcasts your music to your Bluetooth stereo headset.
The BT620s is a behind the head/over the ear design. Compared to other headphones of the same design, this headset is actually very comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. Pairing the device to a phone and the music adapter is easy. It uses what appears to be the standard PIN code (0000) for Bluetooth headsets. The buttons on either headphone are extremely fragile. If you accidentally hit one of them, your music will be muted and returning it back to music mode seems to be more of a hassle then it needs to be. If you talk to some sales reps about these products, they will tell you the audio quality is like a Bose product. Well, I hate to tell you, but the audio quality on these is no where close to the Bose headphones. It doesn’t seem to pick up on bass tones very well and the music that is being played seems to be very heavy on treble.
The A120s is about as basic as it comes. It’s compact size makes it easy to store in the same pocket as your iPod. It only has one button on the front of it allowing the adapter to be paired to your headset. The one downside to this product is the music playing time is estimated at 4 hours less then the headset. What’s the point of using both of these products together? I would like to see the battery life of the A120s match the BT620s headset to make them easier to work together.
I think the Plantronics Pulsar™ 590A Bluetooth® Headset is much better then these Jabra products.
