Thanks For Nothing

This is pretty typical for the company I currently work for. While I was on vacation in Slovenia, I was informed a member of one of the teams I work with resigned and they would like me to apply for it. So when I got back into the USA, and found the job posting online, I applied for it just like we planned. Then, a couple of weeks later I got run over by the motorcycle causing me to be out of the office for a week. Well, during that time I was out of the office, they performed some interviews for this position.

Come to find out this morning, the position was filled. After being requested to apply by the hiring manager directly, they didn’t even interview me and/or give me a f**king chance. It’s typical for this company. I’ve been told more than I care to count how many times I would be promoted, but nothing ever materializes from it. It’s weird why they wonder why people keep resigning. Heck, no one is allowed more than a 10% promotion. I am confused. If you’re not going to give me a chance, why make me apply? Why talk to my manager about the position? Why ask me about it while I am on vacation?

So…screw them. I am going to get mine while the getting is good. A new position opened up for another corporation that is very close to my house. I applied for it a while ago, and had an interview, but at that time the position wasn’t available. They liked my experience and resume, so they wanted to interview me. Well, on Friday, the position opened up so over the weekend, I officially applied for it.

Im glad you applied for it! I am so hopeful you will get it. Make sure you follow up and ask Megan to do some “sweet talking”.
I would also speak with your manager and ask the same questions that you have asked in your blog. You have a right to know whats up - they also knew that you were working from home so they should have been able to at least phone interview you. And…………..if they didnt think you were working …. then we better tell the attorney you had 5 days of lost wages!!!!
