No Trial

The person that hit me in the crosswalk was charged with a DUI by the City of Seattle. Most of the witnesses, including myself, received subpoenas from the City of Seattle Attorney’s office. They wanted us to testify about what happened for the jury trial of the person that hit me. The subpoena stated to call a couple days before the scheduled trial date.

I called with the witness line this morning to make sure that the trial was still scheduled as planned. When I heard the recording for the date of the trial, I found out that a plea was made and the trial was canceled. Great news!

So now what? I have to figure out what to do with this guy. My insurance company contacted me to inform me that they do not consider a moped to be a motor vehicle and therefore would not pay for anything under PIP. My attorney sent a letter to my health insurance provider to inform them that they have to pay everything. The dude that hit me did not have any insurance.

I am waiting to hear from my attorney about what our next steps are. I saw my doctor the other day and he thinks that I just might scar on my face and arm. I was expecting to scar on my arm, but am still hoping that my face won’t. I will probably have to go see a Dermatologist in a few months to see about using a laser to remove some of the discoloration on my face as a result of the accident.
