You Wouldn’t Believe

It’s unfortunately that life doesn’t run like a TiVo where you can just rewind and start over. Normally when I get into the office, I have a few emails to deal with. Today I received an email like no other. I haven’t talked to someone in almost a year now. I received an email today from this someone. The email was very simple, short, and too the point. No “how you doing” or “nice talking to you”. The email was asking if I still had something that belonged to her. She even cc’d a co-worker so that I could present that co-worker with her item that she was looking for.

You know what really frosts my cookies? This person never even once called, sent a message, or emailed me to ask how I was doing after my accident. Of all people that I would’ve expected to hear from was her. After all, I was run over by a drunk driver and her family experienced first hand the most extreme tragedies of drunk driving. What they went through I wouldn’t wish upon my worst enemies, but it would’ve been nice to hear from her. It would’ve been nice to know that just maybe she “cared” enough about a friend.

This is not how I wanted my day to go. When you care about someone like I did care for her, the pain never really goes away. I was crushed by her. I will probably never be the same after it. It’s taken a long time for me to get where I am today after it. I’ve had to do a lot of soul searching just to come to grips.

Sometimes bad events in life can direct you towards wonderful events. Right now, I can’t complain. I’ve got a great girlfriend who cares very much. The girlfriend has a wonderful heart and is liked by all. She’s definitely well planted in the circle of trust.

We met her and there for we would believe. I hope she enjoys her clean dishes. We learn things from every relationship even if it is learning what we don’t want.
