GM Electric Car Production Planned For 2010
Funny that I see this in the news since I just watched ‘Who Killed The Electric Car‘. According to an article on MSNBC, GM’s product chief and Vice Chairman Bob Lutz announced that GM has set a target date of 2010 for a full electric car production. It was only a few years ago that GM was producing the EV1 in California. Of course, production of that model has been suspended and all EV1s that were out in the market have been destroyed.
I for one am very excited about the potential for electric cars. If GM can match, or beat, the specs of the EV1, then I am all for it. This would be a giant leap towards reducing our addiction to oil. It would also serve wonders for slowing down global warming. Does that mean that Americans will run to the dealer when these are released? I sure hope so. If my finances allow it, I know I would like pick one up.
The next question - can the current power grid support people charging their cars?

If you haven’t already, take a look at teslamotors.com.
When they expand their dealer network to Washington, I *will* buy one.
This car looks amazing!!! The specs are far beyond any of my expectations for an electric car.
The only downside - cost is starting at $92,000.00.
