My New Rig
I can’t hold it in anymore. I am building a new PC. After a lot of debate and bickering amongst friends, I decided to go with Intel as my processor. I was originally leaning towards AMD just because they are the “small guy”. So without further adieu, here is me new rig:
- ASUS P5B Deluxe motherboard
- 4Gb of DDR2-800 RAM
- Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4 Ghz
- Nvidia GeForce 8800GTS 640MB video card
- Lian-Li Case (black)
- total 640 Gb of disk space (SATA 3 Gb/s)
Needless to say - it’s gonna be fast, it’s gonna have Vista, and it’s gonna be 64-bit. All the components should arrive this Thursday (3/15). I will most definitely be working from home as I wait pacing back-and-forth until the UPS truck arrives.
I haven’t built/purchased a new PC since February 2002. My current PC is beyond “elderly”.

This time, it’s different Greg. This time, all the hype about Intel’s Core2Duo Cpu’s really pays. Don’t believe it? Then google “core 2 duo review” or just go to toms hardware, nexus, tweaktown or similar hardware pages. This era, i admit, i saw something in Intel, that was worth moving to them from AMD. And it was worth every euro cent..
Anyways… yesterday.. since 5pm CET, Jason is missing. He wasn’t online since then so i wonder.. did OR didn’t UPS truck made it to your house? :wassat:
The UPS truck made it to my house. The UPS truck delivered all items ordered. Not a thing was missing. The bad news - the motherboard was DOA!! :cwy:
