I Settled With My Insurance Company
The chapter of my life that involved being run over by a moped in a crosswalk is officially over. After almost a year of my attorney working with my insurance company, we’ve finally reached a settlement. The settlement doesn’t equate to any kind of early retirement, but it did cover all my out-of-pocket expenses and allowed me to purchase new tires for my truck.
I will have some fun with the settlement money. I am flying down to Kansas City during the week of July 4th with my mom and sister. The greater majority of Ed’s family lives in KC. I love hanging out with them. The entire family is loads of fun. You can’t be in KC around them and not have a good time. The people we’re staying at live on a lake near the KC airport. The lake doesn’t allow speed boats, so everyone has pontoon boats. My week will essentially consist of a lot of laughing, beer drinking, and hanging out on the lake shore.
This trip will also be the first time that my sister meets the KC family. All the other times we flew down, even with Ed, Steph was stuck studying for tests and preparing for finals. She is so driven that nothing will interfere with her achieving her ultimate goal of being a veterinarian and her current grades prove that. Considering that Steph will actually have some free time, I am really excited for her to go down to KC with us. I think she is going to really like the family.
