I’m not dead, I just moved

Sorry it has been so long since I last posted something. I guess you can say a lot has changed. For starters, I’ve moved. I announced a couple of months ago that my landlord was selling his house and I had to relocate.

One morning my mom was browsing CraigsList and discovered an ad from someone who wanted to sublease their apartment for a couple of months. This couldn’t have been a more perfect opportunity for my current living situation. I just wanted to find a place for a couple of months to crash in while I search for a place to purchase. Brian and I rushed down to the leasing office of the apartment and filled out all the rental applications. The previous tenant was under lease until the end of July. Our sublease is from 5/1 – 7/31. The beauty of the whole situation is we save $200 a month by living at the apartment under the terms of the sublease. The previous tenant had setup to pay $200 until the end of the lease. The apartment is great! It’s relatively new, quiet, and very clean. The unit we are living in did not have a clear line-of-site for my DirecTV satellite service, so I made the switch to Comcast. Honestly, I have no regrets of switching. Sure I loose my beloved NFL Sunday Ticket, but I gain a lot more HD channels, on-demand, and a twice the internet speed.

I think Brian and I actually gained a lot by moving into this apartment. Not only did we make gains financially for a couple of months, but we gain a little living space. Each bedroom has its own attached bathroom. My bedroom just so happens to have a walk-in-closet. Having a huge closet is now one of my requirements for a place that I am going to purchase.

Since I am on the subject of the apartment, I might as well talk about the girl who works at the leasing office. To put it simply, she is great and a lot of fun to be around. I couldn’t help it, so I asked her our after we had signed all the leasing papers. Sadly, the dang apartment has a policy where employees cannot “fraternize” with residents. So I will just have to find a place soon so I can take her our to dinner once I am no longer a resident. I did tell her that I would ask her again once I moved out. She got excited and told me that would be great.
