Why is Paris Hilton so newsworthy?

Paris Hilton is out of jail - big f**king deal. Why does this women deserve so much national news coverage? Why does she have to be considered “top story” on some news programs available on CNN, MSNBC, and Fox? We got a two wars going on, large fire in Lake Tahoe, and major flooding in Texas. People are dying, loosing their homes, and the top news story of last night was about Paris Hilton being released from prison?

AC360 spent some time covering the Paris Hilton release story and also dove into panel discussions over the Larry King interview of Paris. What has Paris done to deserve this much attention? I’ve only seen one anchor, thank you MSNBC, take a stand against reporting non-news related crap. Anderson Cooper claims he doesn’t care for Paris Hilton, yet he still reports on her and wastes half his show on Paris Hilton.

The national nightmare continues….
