Mid-West 4th at Weatherby Lake, MO

Last week I was in Kansas City, MO, visiting family. This was actually the first time my little sister Stephanie got to meet all the family in KC. The 4th of July was last week, so we all got to experience a mid-west 4th. The 4th is a serious – parties, family, food, beer, and of course fireworks.

It’s not possible to not have a good time when we are down there. Maryann and Mike always have the door open for us. They have an amazing house on Weatherby Lake where we spent 90% of our time. The weather was hot and humid, so being right on a lake helps out for us non-humid lovers. To put it simply, I had a great time. We basically partied for 7 days straight. My only disappointment was not being able to see Ed’s Aunt Marie. She is so cool!

As a special treat, we got to see Cole’s [Mike & Maryann's son] band play live. They sounded great! Brother Bagman has this southern-rock & funk feel to it. Hopefully they will be able to tour in the Seattle area soon. Since they love music, I am sure they would love all the local music in Seattle.

I’ve uploaded some photos of our trip. I also uploaded some photos of when Max [second cousin from Australia] was hanging out with me and Jay at Jay’s place on Lake Sammamish. I had some sunscreen, but not enough. Talk about being burnt – ouch!

Note: My new photo gallery is running Gallery2. Sometimes the site can be slow to load, but you will be able to view all my photos in their full resolution.
