WordPress 2.3 Released; Tagging Now Native
The latest version of WordPress, which I have upgraded to, has been released to the masses. This was quite an update considering that WordPress now supports native tagging. Previously, if you wanted to use tags, you had to use a separate plug-in. This version actually added quite a few nice features.
Tags are essentially keywords. I read this blog post - which I really wish I had the link for - that really explained them well: if you were reading a book you would consider your post categories as the table of contents, where as your tags would be your blog/site index.
I think I will slowly update some of my posts to include tags. The theme I use on this site now supports tags; which you can see next to the post date.

Bravo Jason!
now as you’ve mentioned it, i need to do an upgrade too. There’s only one thing, that even WP2.3 doesn’t pass. digg effect. It will still slam your page aka web hosting server. So, wordpress caches addon is your friend.
Other than that, thanks for telling me about that, finally i can get official tag support without having 3rd party addy installed.
Did the update went smoothly too? Hope so ^^
