I Am Proud To Present Home 1.0

The time was eventually going to come where my home situation would be in need of some critical updates. Apartment 3.0 has been a great place for Brian and I to live at for these last 8 or 9 months. Apartment 3.0 was never planned to be long term. In fact, it has been longer than I originally planned. I closed out 2007 with a simple mission - upgrade home.

Over the last year, I have looked at some places. Originally, while still at AT&T, I was looking into a condo or townhouse. The cost of houses in the Seattle area are still beyond affordable, so a condo was going to allow me to stay relatively close to work, but actually own something rather than renting. The more and more I’ve been in Apartment 3.0, I’ve realized my needs have changed a bit. I am tired of having to park away from my place of residence. I am tired of having to follow Sebas outside with a plastic bag all the time and keep him close by. I am tired of listening to all the foot steps above us. I am tired of not having my home theater setup and watching DVDs like Transformers and 300 without my concert speakers and big subwoofer. The only solution to my problem was simple - a house.

Looking for houses online is pretty fun. After looking at what seems to be a few hundred, you really realize how different peoples’ decorative tastes are. I’ve seem some really ugly places and some pretty spectacular homes. The house I finally made an offer on was perfect for me. I immediately felt like home the moment I walked inside. Home 1.0 was built in 2002 and offers a two-car attached garage, 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, kitchen, dining area, and living room. Home 1.0 includes all brand new appliances and gas fireplace. The upstairs is where you find the bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an area for the laundry machines. It’s nice to have the washer and dryer upstairs because you don’t have to haul laundry baskets up and down stairs. Home 1.0 offers a fully fenced back yard where Sebas can do his business and walk around. I’ve also got an open deck in the backyard so I can setup my big BBQ again. Home 1.0 is located in the city of Maple Valley. This will extend my commute from a dream time of 10 minutes to somewhere around more around 30 or 40 minutes.

Brian will most likely move back to his home town. He loves it in the Seattle area, but right now he’s got a pretty sweet deal where he can live for pretty cheap, keep his old job in eastern Washington, and continue to suffer p0wnage on Battlefield 2142. Brian has been a lot of fun and I am sure he will continue to have great success back in eastern Washington. We’ve been great friends since we were little kids back in god’s country; Shoreline. We’ll continue to be great friends long after he moves back.

I can’t even being to express how excited I am to move into this place. When we signed off on the offer for the house, the terms specified 45 days to close. This was allow the process plenty of time to take shape and also allow the current residents time to close on their new house. I am currently scheduled to close on Home 1.0 on March 12th. I will most likely receive the keys a few days later. The house is essentially move-in ready. I will paint on the bedrooms but everything else is right in par for my needs. Once I get moved in and everything setup, I will take some more pictures and upload them to my photo gallery for all to see.
