Gas now greater than $4 per gallon
Filed in Current Affairs, Politics, May 27, 2008, 10:56 amWe all knew that the day would come and just prior to Memorial Day, gas has increased to over $4 per gallon near my house. That essentially means to fill my gas tank, it costs over $100 per week. Nice - thanks Bush!
Gregor, in all his wisdom, put something into perspective for me. Sure Americans are screamin’ about fuel costs, but Europeans also suffer the same fate as Americans when it comes to prices at the fuel pump. One of the biggest difference between Americans and Europeans - Europeans got smart and started using smaller and more fuel efficient vehicles a long time ago. Americans are just now starting to consider the change. Wikipedia has an interesting table with gas prices from around the world here. You think we got it bad, look at some of the other nations listed on the table from Wikipedia.
The current economic state in the United States is forcing people the change their habits. I know I have…
When It Rains, It Pours
Filed in Work, May 6, 2008, 6:13 pmOh how I wish things were going to start getting easier. Instead, they seem to get worse. Last week was one of the most trying weeks I have encountered since starting my new job. Comes with the territory of a high-paced worked environment, but last week had a number of people nervous. The gist of the whole matter, without going into too many details, is we were not meeting our metrics as a result of a large number of uncontrollable factors. Rest in peace my friend….
Is it hard to spell ‘Maple Valley’?
Filed in Misc Stuff, My House, March 27, 2008, 8:30 amIs it really that hard to spellĀ Maple Valley? Maybe we should go back to the first grade and sound it all out. Maybe that will help….So I changed my address with Bank of America and GMAC. The customer service reps I spoke with at both companies struggle with the spelling of the city I now reside in. Here is how each rep spelled the city:
- Bank of America = “Mapple Vallyey”
- GMAC = “Mapple Valley”
Seriously - WTF!?
Happy Birthday To Me
Filed in Family, March 26, 2008, 5:13 pmHappy birthday to me! It’s hard to believe, but I am officially 28 years old today. I guess you can say one present I got for myself was this very house I am typing this post in.
Mother nature also decided to send me a little gift in the form of snow. How cool is this - snow in March!
