When It Rains, It Pours
Filed in Work, May 6, 2008, 6:13 pmOh how I wish things were going to start getting easier. Instead, they seem to get worse. Last week was one of the most trying weeks I have encountered since starting my new job. Comes with the territory of a high-paced worked environment, but last week had a number of people nervous. The gist of the whole matter, without going into too many details, is we were not meeting our metrics as a result of a large number of uncontrollable factors. Another issue we had was management was not unified on a direction and as a result, a lot of people have suffered; including our metrics. After long hours and a lot of manual work, we met our mark this week. Great I thought, but then it all changed…

R.I.P. Grandpa Serocki
Filed in Family, April 16, 2008, 3:14 pmI just received word that Grandpa Serocki peacefully passed away last night. Although our time together may have been short, I will always cherish the moments we did spend together.
Rest in peace my friend….
Is it hard to spell ‘Maple Valley’?
Filed in Misc Stuff, My House, March 27, 2008, 8:30 amIs it really that hard to spellĀ Maple Valley? Maybe we should go back to the first grade and sound it all out. Maybe that will help….So I changed my address with Bank of America and GMAC. The customer service reps I spoke with at both companies struggle with the spelling of the city I now reside in. Here is how each rep spelled the city:
- Bank of America = “Mapple Vallyey”
- GMAC = “Mapple Valley”
Seriously - WTF!?
Happy Birthday To Me
Filed in Family, March 26, 2008, 5:13 pmHappy birthday to me! It’s hard to believe, but I am officially 28 years old today. I guess you can say one present I got for myself was this very house I am typing this post in.
Mother nature also decided to send me a little gift in the form of snow. How cool is this - snow in March!
I Am Proud To Present Home 1.0
Filed in My House, February 11, 2008, 12:42 am
The time was eventually going to come where my home situation would be in need of some critical updates. Apartment 3.0 has been a great place for Brian and I to live at for these last 8 or 9 months. Apartment 3.0 was never planned to be long term. In fact, it has been longer than I originally planned. I closed out 2007 with a simple mission - upgrade home.
Over the last year, I have looked at some places. Originally, while still at AT&T, I was looking into a condo or townhouse. The cost of houses in the Seattle area are still beyond affordable, so a condo was going to allow me to stay relatively close to work, but actually own something rather than renting. The more and more I’ve been in Apartment 3.0, I’ve realized my needs have changed a bit. I am tired of having to park away from my place of residence. I am tired of having to follow Sebas outside with a plastic bag all the time and keep him close by. I am tired of listening to all the foot steps above us. I am tired of not having my home theater setup and watching DVDs like Transformers and 300 without my concert speakers and big subwoofer. The only solution to my problem was simple - a house.
